heathengirl travelogue: Japan

Well, this isn't a real travelogue yet, but it will be. For now, it's a placeholder until I can find the time to scan things, edit photos for the Web, and copy and edit my trip diary. My 10-day trip took place in early November of 2001, and it was the first time I've ever been outside the US. So, needless to say, it was a Big Deal!

There will be entries for each day and place I visited during my trip: Hiroshima, Himeji, Nara, Toyama/Osawano/Kamioka, Takayama, Kyoto, Arashiyama, and Osaka, plus one entry about the trouble I had getting to Japan in the first place. I'll also include links to related Web sites as I find them. I already have a list of some very good sites about Hiroshima and the atomic bomb, and a few sites related to other aspects of my trip as well.

Needless to say, like so many of my personal projects, this will be a work in progress for a long time to come. It'll probably start out pretty rough, but as I have the time to flesh out the individual travelogues, I will do so, adding photos and other images and supplemental info as they become available.

Thanks for your interest and your patience! Please come back again and see if I've made any progress on this project. Once I've established a new Web-based e-mail address, I'll post it as a way for interested people to sign up to receive news of updates to my site. I'll do this soon, really!
